Hello Usha, my old friend, How are you? And where are you? I have tried to find you through all the social websites including Orkut, Facebook, Google and what not. If you are reading this, please please respond to me. I will be very happy to meet you.
My friend Usha, we were the same age. My birthday is on Sept 28 and hers on Oct 28. I met her when I was I think 3 or 4 years old. She used to speak only Tamil, I knew only Malayalam. And that’s how we communicated. We grew up together, always in the same batch. We used to also play together and share our hobbies. She was a voracious reader. Right from the time when she was in Sr. KG. Yes, you read it right. She was super brainy and could finish comic books in minutes. I had to keep up with her and got into the habit of reading. Most of the books I read initially, were from her. Even at the young age, she was very sure of what she wanted to be. She wanted to be a Doctor. And she was showing all the signs. She was a great animal lover too and looked after all the strays in our society.
When we were around 11 years of age, tragedy struck her family. Due to which she and her family shifted out of Mumbai. This was in the mid-80s. At that time in India, phone-calls were a lengthy affair with trunk-calls and very costly. Also, no other contact details. I lost touch with her almost immediately.
Hopefully, someone will read this and recognize. I am sure she will be a Doctor today. Else, she would be a scientist or something. But surely, something to do with medicine. I hope I can get to meet her and pick up where we left off.
