Dia carefully keys in the ATM Pin making sure it is correct, no one is watching and then presses the ‘Enter’ button. The ATM validates her pin in a few seconds and the next screen shows a ‘Welcome Dia’ message. She then keys in the amount and again presses ‘Enter’. The machine swings into action sounding like an elevator with sudden bells going tring. The machine starts selecting and counting the money. Dia knows exactly what is going on in the background. She had written a similar program for an international bank.
The amount is dispensed. Dia takes the money and is about to leave, when her husband Sameer, quickly presses random keys on the ATM.
‘Hey! Don’t do that. The machine will crash with so much data input overload,’ says Dia horrified.
‘Aw come on. This way, no one can trace our finger prints to know what was the ATM Pin!’ retorts Sameer and he leaves the ATM kiosk looking pleased with himself.
Dia takes a deep breath and mentally adds it to the user test case for the ATM program.
