‘Dia, are you going to your mom’s place this week?’ asked Sameer looking up from the newspaper.
‘No, why do you ask?’ asked Dia. She was relaxing on the bed with a book.
‘The forecast says, “This will be a peaceful week.”’ said Sameer laughing.
Dia threw a pillow at him.
‘Now that you said it, I will surely go to mom’s place. It’s been almost a month since I met her,’ said Dia perking up.
‘So, the forecast is true,’ continued Sameer.
‘Nah, don’t believe them. I am sure it’s a program like those computer horoscopes. Just put in a few random words, gargle, and spit it out. Put some flowery adjectives, and the forecast is ready. ’
‘Really? What about the star and planet positions? It cannot be a program.’
‘Sameer, check your own forecast for the past few months. You will see the pattern. Aaaaand, I am off to see my mom, thanks to the forecast.’
