Book Blogger Appreciation Week : Day 1 #BBAW

I discovered this Book Blogger Appreciation Week through another book blogger Shantala and loved the concept.  This is my first time at BBAW.

Day 1 is an introduction post mentioning 5 books which defines me.

I love to read books of different genres and am willing to experiment too.  But,  I have realised fantasy (other than Harry Potter and Twilight),  horror and erotic is not for me.  I love reading romances, thrillers, mysteries, drama.  I read a bit of non-fiction,  but not the business objectives types.  HCK

Here are my 5 –

  1. Gone With the Wind – for being as headstrong as Scarlet
  2. Pride And Prejudice – Something about Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth
  3. Into The Wild – Its non-fiction but very motivating.  It challenged many of my basic beliefs.
  4. The Book Thief – Simply for human resilience.  I know there are other books too, but this one will be in my heart forever.
  5. The Thorn Birds – A love that is not meant to have a happily-ever after.  Its doomed from the start,  yet heart wins over mind.

I am looking forward to meeting more book bloggers and sharing the fun and reads.

  1. 1 and 4 for me too! I think for me, the other books are The Fountainhead, Mistress and……. well, you know, I think there’s a bit of every book I’ve read in me, defining me somehow…

  2. Great selection of the books. I recently read ‘Pride and Prejudice’ –Yes, I know! this late! — and I am absolutely in love with the amazing plot and Mr. Darcy 😉

  3. What a great idea!
We’ve got three in common – Pride & Prejudice, The Book Thief and Gone with the Wind. One of my favourites is To Kill A Mockingbird.

  4. I’ve only read two of the books but I’ve heard of the others. All good choices. I suspect you will have a good time this week, and now you have me wondering what books describe me. Hmmm.

  5. I love all of these except Into the Wild which I haven’t read yet. I remember reading the Thornbirds while walking around my apartment with my baby boy! (Which was about 19 years ago.)
