I is for Indulge #AtoZChallenge

IOn a Saturday night,  just before getting out of the house,  Dia asked Sameer the most dreaded question, ‘How do I look?’

Caught between the devil and the cliff,  he said a non-committal ‘Good.’.

‘you did not even look up,’ accused Dia.

‘I did.. I did.  I love your ear-rings.’

‘Which color are they?’

Damn..  He was caught, but he said, ‘golden.’

Dia grimaced and walked out of the door.

A few days later,  Sameer was getting ready to go and meet some friends.

‘Bye Dia,’ he called out while putting on his shoes.

Dia came over to see him leave.

‘Those clothes don’t match.  You cannot wear blue shirt with brown trousers,’ said Dia.

‘It doesn’t matter.  I am just meeting some friends.’

‘But what will they think if I let you go out like this.  Besides, it doesn’t match at all.’

‘They will not even notice what I am wearing.  Relax, ‘ said Sameer looking at his watch.

‘Men are not only from Mars, but also color blind,’ thought Dia.

Sameer looked into the mirror once again and changed the shirt before leaving.

  1. The beauty of this episode is that Sameer listened to her and changed before leaving. It said a lot 🙂
I like the thought that probably men are ‘color blind’ because to them colors and shades at that never seem to matter.

  2. This reminds me so much of my husband. 🙂 I love it. You’ve really managed to capture the relationship between the pair and I thought it was an incredibly sweet touch that although he insisted his friends would never notice, he went and changed the shirt anyway.

  3. Epic story! I’ve seen this same scene so many times in college. The girls are so fussy about how they look, and spend hours in the common room. But the guys are totally chilled. They might have worn the same shirt thrice in a week, and they don’t mind, and don’t even realise.
    Men are really blind 😛

  4. Hahaha how typical of men! So sad they can get away with the same boring clothes while we fret about having nothing new in our wardrobe!
