If we were having coffee… #WTFOW #writebravely

Hello friends!  Atlast I hear a sigh of relief, elation and a bit of sadness. Let us talk about this fabulous week we had.

If we were having coffee,  I would tell you that I had such a fabulous week writing for the ‘Write Tribe Festival of Words’.   It was 7 continuous days of writing based on prompts.  There was this whole group of people who became friends during this period.  We egged each other on,  gave suggestions and did everything to support each other.  A bit similar to the April A to Z with fewer number of days.

The difference this time was I had fully loaded workdays. I had not planned any of the posts in advance.  Every morning,  before I started my work day,  I spent an hour on the posts.  During the day,  I would think about what to write the next day.  Armed with a few ideas,  I would start my writing hour.  And the next one hour,  with no distractions at home,  I wrote.  I kept the phone in another room so that I do not reach for it.  I did not go to the internet till my post is complete.  I realised that I could do this every day.  After the first couple of days,  it felt easier to write.

My take away from this ‘Festival of Words” is to focus on a dedicated time to write as against writing when I feel like or writing when I get time.  Thank you Corinne.  Thank you Write Tribers (or is it Write Tribals?)

P.S.  I spent the morning today going over all the comments I received from you in the past seven days.  It is an incredible feeling.  I could not visit all the posts due to the heavy work schedule.  But,  I will be visiting you in the coming days.

‘I am taking part in The Write Tribe Festival of Words #6′.  Today’s prompt is ‘If we were having coffee…’

  1. Congratulations on finishing this! Good on you for being so focussed and blogging every day of the challenge!

  2. “My take away from this ‘Festival of Words” is to focus on a dedicated time to write”…. this is my take too. Was a fab fest.

Congrats on finishing the fest. It was a fun ride with you all. 🙂

  3. I agree Lata – its sad that such a wonderful fest os over and I am going to miss the “pressure” of posting everyday!! Its been a marvellous one for me too and I have been trying to star abreast of the commetns on my posts too – what a heady feeling to see so many of them. Thank you for being so regualr on my blog during the fest!! I am going to read the ones I couldnt in the coming week – will catch up on all of yours too!! 🙂

  4. I’ve had a fun week reading all the posts. The prompts were so good. Congratulations for writing without preparation Lata. The spontaneity is something to be proud of.

  5. I agree with you. WTFOW #6 was a fun and learning experience for me too. It is admirable of you that you blogged on all 7 days and visited others even when you neck deep in your professional work. For one, I cannot visualize myself handling so much at one time. I personally enjoyed reading your post on MIL and DIL. It was simply superb. Tribals! i like this word more than Tribers 😀

  6. This was indeed an awesome challenge. Infact I too wasn’t prepared… I wrote and published my posts in the early morning train. And then in the evening fixed all the alignment. A lot of catching up needs to be done 🙂 it does feel good to read all the comments 😀

  7. It was a challenge indeed. But we made it. I am so so happy that I could finish this challenge. And yes, instead of writing when the mood struck, I wrote every night to write and it worked. I should stick to this discipline. Congrats on completing the challenge, Lata. 🙂
